2008 Annual Meeting & Picnic - April 19, 2008
Like this country's 900 other electric cooperatives, FKEC holds an Annual Meeting for its members every Spring.
This year, Florida Keys Electric Cooperative's 67th Annual Meeting and Picnic will once again be held in conjunction with the Sun 103.1 Annual Kids Show, making it a day the whole family should enjoy.
COMEDIAN GARY CLAXTON
New this year is entertainment by Country Comedian Gary Claxton also known as "The Mouth of the South." Gary has performed live at the Grand Ole Opry and Las Vegas, appeared on a variety of television programs, recorded several comedy albums, and will share his hillbilly humor with FKEC members before this year's meeting. REGISTRATION GIFTS & LUNCH
As always, FKEC will provide registration gifts and free lunch for all registered members and their families. Registration begins at 11 a.m.
PRIZE RAFFLE
The annual meeting will be followed by FKEC's annual prize raffle for home electronics and small appliances!
FREE FOR MEMBERS
FKEC's Annual Meeting & Picnic is free for all electric co-op members from Marathon to North Key Largo.
SUN 103.1 KIDS SHOW
FKEC's meeting will once again be held in conjunction with the Sun 103.1 Kids Show which opens at 10 a.m. The Kids Show will be in the high school's new gymnasium and will feature booths with interactive, creative and educational products all geared to parents and children ages 1-14. Children’s games and other entertainment will also be provided. Kids Show admission benefits local youth.
MEETING
At 1 p.m. FKEC's meeting will commence in the auditorium. Speakers will include CEO Scott Newberry and David Ritz, President of FKEC's Board of Directors.
WHY ANNUAL MEETINGS?
As required by FKEC's bylaws as a cooperative utility, the meeting serves as a forum to share the previous year's financial and business reports and to keep members informed of progress in various power system upgrades and developments.
