DISTRICT ELECTIONS 2009
A district election to elect two members to the Board of Directors of Florida Keys Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (FKEC) will be held as shown below. Members in that district are eligible to vote in the district election. District election voting rules are also shown below for your information.
District 1 - Key Largo Area

Who Can Vote in The Elections:
Members must vote in the District in which they reside and:
1. Any person, firm, association, corporation or body politic or subdivision thereof receiving electric service as a member of FKEC is eligible to vote at district elections and membership meetings.
2. A member must vote in person.
3. Corporate members may vote by the president upon the presentation of evidence to that effect by letterhead stationary of the corporation, corporate business card, or corporate credit card, otherwise, a person voting on behalf of a corporate member shall complete and sign an Affirmation form, certifying that he/she has been authorized to cast the ballot for the corporate member.
4. The person registered as a member shall be the only person eligible to vote.
5. A member, regardless of the number of meters in his/her name, may cast only one vote in his/her name.
6. In joint memberships, either person may vote. If there are two or more joint memberships of the same persons and two or more meters, the joint membership shall be eligible to cast only one vote.
7. If a membership is in the name of the husband or the wife, only the person who is the member may vote.
8. Persons holding memberships but not receiving service from FKEC at the time of the election shall not be eligible to vote.
9. Minors holding memberships shall not be allowed to vote unless their disabilities have been removed by law or their duly qualified guardians are present with orders of guardianship issued by a competent court.
