On September 28 at 11 a.m., an excavating contractor working in the Marina
Village area of Ocean Reef dug too close to one of the main electric poles,
causing it to fall over into the trees. This incident "locked out" the
distribution circuit which serves from mile marker 106 north along County
Road 905, including Angler's Club and Ocean Reef Club.
FKEC line repair crews were immediately dispatched. At 11:35 a.m., the
affected area was isolated and the customers in Garden Cove and along County
Rd. 905 up to the front gate of Ocean Reef Club were restored.
At 12:46 p.m., all consumers at the Angler's Club and Ocean Reef Club were
back in service except the hotel and marina area. At 1:35 p.m., all
customers were back in service.
