FKEC APPOINTS NEW CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Florida Keys Electric Cooperative congratulates John Stuart on his promotion to Chief Operating Officer. Stuart joined FKEC in January as Tavernier District Director.

As COO, Stuart's new duties include supervision over all operations (transmission and distribution) in both the Tavernier and Marathon areas, engineering (company-wide), and the warehouse/stores department. He reports directly to CEO Scott Newberry and oversees FKEC's operations from North Key Largo to the top of the Seven Mile Bridge in Marathon.

In addition to his expanded responsibilities, Stuart will continue to oversee FKEC's substation and generation departments.

Stuart has over 25 years of electric utility experience including 18 years with Pacific Gas and Electric in California. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, California and Missouri.
