FKEC RE-OPENS AFTER ERNESTO; AREA UNAFFECTED

Florida Keys Electric Cooperative re-opened both its Tavernier and Marathon offices today at 8 a.m. after a weak Tropical Storm Ernesto left its service territory unaffected.

There were several brief outages reported due to blown tap fuses in the Marathon and Islamorada areas, but line crews restored service to the affected areas quickly. None of the outages affected a significant number of members.
