OUTAGE REPORT

On November 29 at 12:49 p.m., Florida Keys Electric Cooperative experienced a transmission line relaying out between Crawl Key and Marathon. The Marathon area and Keys Energy Services were both out. KES was re-energized in 44 seconds and all of Marathon in 50 seconds.

A piece of cable was found on the ground - still smoldering - at structure 1382, which is six structures north of the Marathon substation.

The cable hit the static line and the B phase of the transmission line, causing the relay to operate.
