OUTAGE REPORT: 10 Minute Outage in North Key Largo
FKEC crews were performing routine maintenance in the Oz Moody Substation at mile marker 106 when a high-side transformer breaker tripped, causing a 10-minute outage in North Key Largo today at 10:21 a.m. The outage affected the area from the substation north to the county line, including Card Sound Road, Ocean Reef and the Lake Surprise area. Approximately 4,330 members were affected.
Crews were performing maintenance on a high-side transformer breaker in the substation when a protection element sensed the work as a fault and shut down power to the active transformer. The substation crews temporarily disconnected the protection device to restore power and complete the maintenance project.
