OUTAGE REPORT: 4-5 Minute Outage in Tavernier, Marathon & Lower Keys

On February 28 at 10:59 a.m., part of FKEC's power system experienced a brief, inadvertant power outage as the result of required relay testing.

The outage affected approximately 50 percent of consumers served by the Tavernier Substation including Mariner's Hospital. Power was restored to these 2,800 members at 11:03 a.m.

The outage also affected about 6,000 consumers served by the Marathon Substation until 11:04 a.m.

The tie line to Keys Energy Services in the Lower Keys was also affected. That line was re-engerized at 11:04 a.m.
