| Lineman Darrell Davis replaces a fuse along Venetian Boulevard. |
A pelican flew into distribution lines on Palermo Drive in Venetian Shores at mile marker 86 at 5:01 p.m. on March 29, causing an outage for half of the neighborhood until 6:16 p.m.
The deceased pelican was found by FKEC linemen below the burned-down line. The linemen worked to remove and replace the line and then replaced or reclosed several blown fuses on the scene. The line fault also opened fuses at the entrance of the neighborhood along U.S. 1.
Approximately 300 members were affected by the outage.
