Islamorada Outage Report

Florida Keys Electric Cooperative had a outage in the Islamorada area on the morning of June 1. A splice failed on one phase of the "I" feeder out of the Islamorada Substation, affecting about 1,000 members on the Old Highway from the Islamorada Substation to Beacon Reef Condominiums.

The outage occurred at 9:05 a.m. Crews arrived at the Substation to perform manual switching in the field to restore approximately half of the affected accounts by 9:38 a.m. The failed wire was then repaired and all customers were back in service by 10:11 a.m.
