Florida Keys Electric Cooperative is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton as it approaches our Upper and Middle service territory, from the County line and Ocean Reef to the Seven Mile Bridge. The Florida Keys are currently under a Tropical Storm Warning, and we are actively preparing for potential storm impacts.
Starting tonight, Tuesday, October 8, FKEC will double the staffing at our 24/7 System Operations Control Center. Additional co-op linemen will also be on standby, ready to respond to any power outages. Please be aware that weather could create unsafe working conditions, possibly extending the duration of outages. Rest assured, as soon as conditions are safe, our crews will begin power restoration as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Updated: Out of an abundance of caution, FKEC offices in Tavernier and Marathon will be closed Wednesday, October 9. While our doors will be closed, our employees in all departments will remain on standby should their assistance be needed. As always, FKEC’s online services and an emergency operator ((305) 852-2431) are available around the clock.

Reporting Outages: If you experience a power outage, please report it using our automated phone system at (305) 852-2431. This is the most efficient and accurate way to notify us of outages.
Tracking Power Outages: FKEC will do our best to inform you of significant power outages in the Upper and Middle Keys. However, you can also track the location and status of all outages —big or small— with our Live Power Outage Map.
