Verify Your SmartHub Contact Information & Enroll in Outage Texting
FKEC uses SmartHub, our online account management tool, to send important outage and restoration updates to members. To make sure you receive these notifications when they matter most, your contact information must be current and you must be enrolled in Outage Texting.
Even if you already have a SmartHub account or receive other FKEC text or email notifications, take 2 minutes to verify your contact information and notification settings. Follow the steps below to make sure FKEC can reach you before, during and after an outage.
1. Log in or register for SmartHub. Select the yellow “Login” button in the top-right corner of this page. If you’re using a mobile device, you’ll have the option to download the SmartHub app. If you’re registering for SmartHub for the first time, you’ll need your FKEC account number.
2. When the “Don’t Miss Outage Alerts” message appears, select “Yes” to review your contact information.
3. Under Contact Methods, add or verify the mobile phone numbers and email addresses you want FKEC to use to share outage updates.
4. Verify your contact information. If you add a mobile number for text messages, a confirmation text with a verification code will be sent to that number. If you add an email address, a confirmation email with a verification code will be sent. Enter the code to start receiving outage updates.
5. Open SmartHub Settings
- Mobile device: Select “More” in the bottom-right corner, then select “Settings.”
- Desktop computer: Select “Settings” from the menu on the left side of the screen.
6. Under Settings, select “Manage Notifications”
7. Select “Service” to access the Edit Notifications page. FKEC recommends that all members enroll in at least “Power Outage” notifications.
- Mobile device: Under Edit Notifications, select the arrow next to each notification you want to receive.
Choose how you want to receive each notification by moving the toggle to turn on the contact methods you want to receive. Select “Save” to update your preferences. - Desktop computer: Under Services, select the phone numbers and/or emails you would like to enroll. Once clicked, it will be highlighted in gray. Then click “Save”.
A phone number or email already highlighted in gray indicates it is currently enrolled. To remove a number or email from notifications, simply reply to one of the messages and follow the opt-out instructions.
FKEC recommends that all members enroll in at least “Power Outage” notifications.
11. Mobile device: Return to Edit Notifications to see which notifications you are enrolled in. You can return to this screen and change your notification preferences at any time.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this important notification process. FKEC can keep you informed—but only if we can reach you.
