Dr. Jim Boilini, a Credentialed Cooperative Director, was originally appointed to the board in 2004 to complete the remainder of an unexpired term for District 1, Key Largo. He was then elected in 2005, and has been re-elected in three-year intervals. He also served as Board President from 2013 to 2019.
Boilini moved to Key Largo in the 1970s following graduation from Indiana University, where he earned a Doctorate in Optometry. Boilini has owned a private Optometry practice since 1975.
He serves on the Monroe County parks and recreation committee, is president and founding board member of Jacobs Aquatic Center, and is a former director of the Foundation Board at Mariners Hospital. Boilini was also a founding member of the Monroe Educational Foundation and the Take Stock in Children program.
